After studying Fashion & Design at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute and working with the team at Marcel Wanders studio, Sanne Faber opened her own atelier in 2022, focusing on intricate collage art.

Originally from Amsterdam, she has since lived and worked in New York and is currently based in Milan, where her practice has expanded into an entirely new direction.

Her collage work — surrealistic, layered, and deeply detailed — explores pressing social themes: female empowerment, identity, diversity, and the passage of time. Inspired by her Dutch heritage, she incorporates antique frames and references the rich visual tradition of the Dutch masters, pushing that lineage into a contemporary, unflinching conversation about the world we live in.

In 2026, Faber introduced 'still life, stitched.' — a new body of work that takes her collage instinct off the page and into three dimensions. Rooted in the Dutch vanitas tradition of still life painting, where everyday objects carry the weight of time and transience, she wraps and hand-embroiders broken and discarded objects in reclaimed fabric: raw cotton from her years in fashion, linen from an old tablecloth, her daughter's outgrown clothes. The collage is made solid. Paper becomes cloth. Cutting becomes stitching. Waste repairing waste.
